Lake Havasu City is proud to honor our Vietnam Veterans with an open invitation to all service members and veterans to our Vietnam Veterans Day Outdoor Cookout Event! This is a free event for the service members, veterans, and friends and family!
Gate opens at 10:30 a.m., presentation of “Colors,” from the Lake Havasu Marine Corps League Detachment # 757, kicks off the event at 10:45 a.m., followed by the National Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance, and a few messages thanking those who serve in the military past and present.
Veterans in need of free transportation to and from the event must call ahead and reserve a spot through Lake Havasu City Transit Services at 928-453-7600 by 5pm on Friday, March 17.
This is a City event, produced by a committee of various local veteran organizations.
The venue is sponsored by Friends of the Fair, hotdogs and the fixings are sponsored and provided by the Elks Lodge #2399, and live music is provided with past donations.
Additionally, in honor of Vietnam Veterans Day, beginning through March 31, the City Hall Lobby, located at 2330 McCulloch Boulevard North, is hosting the Mohave Military Museum’s “O Say Can You See” Exhibit featuring various U.S. uniforms, photographs, and militaria demonstrating evolving tactics and technology during the global conflict of World War II and beyond. This exhibit is open and free to the public Monday through Friday from 8am. to 5pm.
